Job Description

Area Sales Manager sought by successful manufacturer of high quality engineered joinery products for the UK’s major house builders.


Responsible for prospecting new clients and servicing existing accounts amongst the country’s top 25 house builders, the Area Sales Manager will be dealing with Senior Purchasing Professionals and Business owners. Applying your knowledge, enthusiasm and commercial acumen, you will seek out and track new housing developments and prospects anywhere in the UK in order to secure business.


You will give credible and professional presentations to people at all levels and remain aware of emerging design trends so as to ensure that your design colleagues are offering the right mix of products and components to meet customers’ needs. Equally important, you will also make a point of keeping abreast of competitor activities.


Producing and following up on quotations, you will make a point of liaising with colleagues in design, manufacturing and commercial so as to achieve the right outcomes for your customers. This will involve you in query resolution meetings where you will bring clarity to required actions by customers.


Commercially aware, computer literate and professionally driven it would be useful if you had some knowledge of woodworking / joinery products, although it will also be of interest if you have sold other building products into the house building sector. A formal commercial/business Qualification is desirable but not essential.


Well presented and pleasant yet assertive, the Area Sales Manager should be competent in achieving  success through a structured approach to sales and marketing, taking pride in knowing your product sector inside out in respect of contacts, products, materials, business opportunities, etc. Key to your success will be your ability to establish and develop lasting business relationships which are built on mutual trust.
