Job Description

An opportunity for a CNC Machinist with experience of fine tolerance work to join a technology led manufacturer producing parts for the aerospace and defence sectors, supplying some of the world’s best known companies.

As a CNC Machinist in the business you will spend your induction period on days before moving to a 37 hour double day shift and there is ample scope for overtime if you want it – currently another 9 – 18 hours for those who want it.

The work focuses mainly on milling on Fanuc controlled machines, and mainly 3 axis, to produce required components to required standard and on time to meet customer expectations.

The key duties of the CNC Machinist are to produce components in line with delivery requirements against agreed schedules and:

To ensure that all relevant quality criteria are met.

To ensure adherence to working practices, procedures, policies, H&S.

To operate a wide variety of power tools and hand tools.

Use calibrated measuring devised fixtures and meters.

Maintain accurate documentation related to quality and work in progress.

Repairs / re-work of nonconforming products.

Maintain a clean work area ensuring audit ready at all times.

You will ideally be a time served CNC Machinist with a positive attitude and strong levels of dexterity, someone who is conscientious and punctual and who takes a pride in their work and who works well with colleagues.  It is imperative that you have experience of working to high quality standards on precision components and you must be fully conversant with ISO programming on Fanuc controlled machines.

£14 per hour plus 20% shift allowance.  Overtime is paid at x1.25 weekdays, x1.5 Saturdays and x2 Sundays.
