Job Description

An excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to support a small Design team in a market leading business which designs and manufactures high end aesthetically appealing consumer products which are exported throughout the world.

 

It will be advantageous if the Design Engineer has prior experience of designing products which are manufactured through CNC Machining and Casting manufacturing processes. 3D CAD experience essential.

 

Key duties will include:

 

Construct and maintain line drawings suitable for specification sheets and installation instructions.

Format and maintain specification sheets and installation instructions.

Assist in providing design detail, drawings and support to manufacturing as required.

Create and maintain Bills Of Materials and part details in database.

Manipulate 3D assembly data to match Bills Of Materials.

Assist in providing support to sub contractors as requested.

Detail & Assembly drawing revisions.

Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of the product range.

 

In addition to a formal engineering qualification (Degree / HNC or equivalent) and having Design experience related to Machining/Casting processes (preferably with an emphasis on aesthetically appealing consumer products), applicants should be familiar with Engineering Changes, drawing/BOM checks, alterations to existing designs/components, product reviews/cost savings, etc.

The Design Engineer should be a positive, enthusiastic individual who thrives on managing their own projects whilst also contributing as a team player. Multi tasking will be vital in situations in which you need to switch from one project to an urgent production issue whilst ‘keeping all of the balls in the air’.
