Our client is a well established and successful Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consultancy which designs and specifies the M&E services of a wide range of buildings including offices, data centres, residential apartments, schools, colleges and hotels etc, with an emphasis on sustainable, low carbon design, for Clients such as M & G, Vodafone, Fujitsu, BBC, British Airways, European Centre for Mid-Range Weather Forecasts, Allianz, GSK.
They now seek an experienced M&E Building Services Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years current UK building services experience coming from a permanent background.
The M&E Building Services Design Engineer should have broad based experience across a range of sectors with good computer and communication skills. Familiarity with following software packages would be an advantage, but training will be given if necessary: TAS, Cymap, Amtech, AutoCAD.
The successful applicant will be involved in key aspects of supervising engineers and dealing direct with Clients in a face to face environment. The role also entails managing projects, the project team and the delivery of their services to Clients and reporting directly to the Project Director.
Senior Engineers take responsibility for all aspects of the design and specification of building services installation, including project control and management, supervision of project engineers, surveying, quality inspections, dealing with contractors, attending site meetings, taking minutes, report writing, and checking Operation & Maintenance manuals.
CIBSE accredited qualifications such as BEng (Hons), BSc or MSc are expected, and ideally members or associated members of CIBSE or Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET)
The electrical design services include the electrical supplies for buildings covering HV & LV power, lighting, data cabling, generators and UPS systems, fire alarm and fire suppressant systems, CCTV and alarms.
