Procurement Team Leader

Job Description

Procurement Team Leader sought by global aerospace business with both commercial and military customers bases. This is a key role with very genuine scope for further promotion within a 2 year time frame.


You will be leading a team of Operational Buyers and a Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for delivery of operational performance requirements - the annual spend is c£75m.


Success in the role will be measured on continuous improvement, people development and supplier delivery performance.


Additionally you will be responsible for application across the team of supplier scheduling and the accuracy of supplier and procured parts data within the MRP system to ensure that demand signals minimise shortages and eliminate unwanted inventory.


The Procurement Team Leader will be accountable for external scheduling – vendor scheduling, purchase orders and point of use. You will be the senior escalation point with the supplier for any issues relating to supplier performance, manage the budget for the Procurement Operations team and deputise for the Site Procurement Manager as required.


Degree or equivalent qualified in a Business, Engineering or Science discipline, you should have several years of Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Production Management experience and significant experience of dealing with an international supply base. where you will have developed relationship building skills with the supplier network and acquired insight in supplier processes.


A strong understanding of the aerospace industry is desirable. Core competencies of analytical ability, leadership, decisiveness, customer focus, organisation, focus on results and determination to improve processes, people and operational performance are essential.
