Job Description

Key role of Production and Supply Chain Manager required to report to Managing Director of 100+ employee manufacturing facility, where the emphasis of the role is to safely manufacture electro mechanical products to meet rapidly increasing global demand and utilising Lean problem solving and continuous improvement techniques to this end. You will be working within a highly successful international Group.


With 7 direct reports across day-to-day Production and Supply Chain (Materials/Warehouse) and 65 staff currently employed in these areas of the business, you will promote a safety first culture and be responsible for end to end delivery from ordering materials to shipment of final product.


You will ensure achievement of the production plan against a backdrop of rising demand whilst  adhering to stringent quality levels and budget targets. You will set the operations budget and monitor the associated cost reduction programme and you will be a senior member of the site management team.


Your significant management experience within the manufacturing sector will need to include proven capabilities in operations management where you have headed up day to day production matters as well as the effective flow of materials through the warehouse in a manufacturing facility and the ongoing optimisation of inventory levels. The commissioning of a new warehouse facility on the manufacturing site will be one of your early tasks.


Understanding of ERP/manufacturing business systems is essential.


Ideally Degree (or equivalent) qualified in a manufacturing or engineering discipline, you will be able to clearly demonstrate how you get the best from your team via leadership, engagement and communication. Naturally you should be familiar with HR matters around absence monitoring, disciplinary procedures, people development/coaching. You should have an understanding of operations financial accounting including all necessary controls.


Very importantly, you will be an enthusiastic and effective ambassador for a safety first culture, leading by example, and be firmly committed to Lean/Continuous improvement.
