Job Description

Project Manager with Point of Sale/Merchandising displays background sought by £25m turnover/250 employee business, market leader in its sector.


Using your proven experience within the sector, your role as Project Manager will entail the effective project management of manufacture and installation contracts typically varying from £10,000 to £250,000 in value.


Reporting to the Sales Director, the Project Manager’s duties will include:



  • planning and direction of the project from the launch meeting to delivery/installation For variants or repeats the Project Manager will also be responsible for estimation.

  • responsible for margins, as measured by the variance from estimated cost to actual cost.

  • preparation of a project  which defines deadlines and critical dates for both client and your company. The aim is to assist the Account Manager to set the “rules of engagement” with the client through clarity of responsibilities for both parties.

  • maintain a current bill of materials throughout the project, giving current project margin and comparison to estimate.

  • report the reason for margin deviations from estimate to the MD.

  • ensure projects are completed to plan on time and on budget.

  • ensure that any client led change to specification is reflected in the modified BOM, and to calculate the resulting on-costs to be recovered by the Account Manager.

  • observe testing and first off approval procedures.


    The Project Manager must have an understanding of the Point of Sale (POS) merchandising display/shop fitting sector and must have a track record of success in managing quite complex projects to a successful outcome. Skilled in maintaining control and in working to short lead times you must be an excellent communicator who is assertive, professional and personable in approach.
