Job Description

 

QA Technologist sought by our highly successful, £90m turnover ambient food sector manufacturer, a trusted and respected supplier of high quality products to leading retailers and manufacturers throughout the UK.

 

The QA Technologist will ensure that the requirements for both BRC certification and customers are met and you will maintain the standards for product safety, legality, traceability, quality, hygiene and housekeeping requirements.

 

Key tasks of the Quality Technologist will include:

 

    • Carrying out internal audits to schedule including glass, blades and personal hygiene.

    • Controlling the goods coming into the business to the risk assessed schedule, taking of samples and completion of paperwork.

    • Monitoring manufacturing and warehouses and ensuring that the required standards for food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, traceability, allergen management, legality and quality are maintained.

    • Liaising with the pest control contractor.

    • Ensuring the control, quarantine and corrective action of any non-conforming products.

    • Ensuring that all tasks are carried out safely and in a safe working environment.

    • Monitoring and investigating complaints, returns, weight control issues and metal finds relating to the production factory.

    • Organising and assessing laboratory testing as required.

    • Creating and providing certificates of conformance to customers at the point of despatch.

    • Attending training courses as required.

       

      The QA Technologist should have experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment and preferably experience with auditing, knowledge and/ or experience of HACCP. You should preferably be a food science graduate (or equivalent) or at least educated to A' level standard (or equivalent) in a science subject with laboratory or Quality experience in the food manufacturing sector.

       

      An effective communicator, with a close eye for detail, the QA Technologist should have an ability to work autonomously and with a team. You should also be computer literate.

       

      The role entails shift working, rotating Monday - Friday 6.00 am – 2.00 pm and                  2.00 pm – 10.00 pm and also 8.30 am – 5.00 pm.
