Quality Engineer

Job Description

A Quality Engineer is sought by an international business which designs and manufactures electro mechanical machines for the Healthcare and Life Science sectors.

 

As a key member of the Quality team you will perform the following tasks:

 

  • Lead on failure investigations and supplier quality issue resolutions and provide feedback to the internal stakeholders.
  • Respond and resolve production line quality issues.
  • Identification of non conforming materials and recommending preventive actions.
  • Ensure that inspection and tests are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans and that all necessary documentation is produced in a timely manner, making use of the MRP system.
  • Deal with international suppliers.
  • Raising credit notes and other documentation via the MRP system.
  • First article inspection of new parts and new revisions of parts.
  • Participation in change request process.
  • Assist Quality Manager, Production Manager and other Senior Management with day to day issues arising in the factory, including assisting with quality aspects of new product introduction.
  • Involvement in 8D Team investigations.
  • Raising Quality alerts and reporting daily on quality issues to the Team Leaders and Management.
  • Auditing to ISO 9001 standard

 

 

Additionally you will participate in rework and warranty activities and produce warranty analysis, reporting back on findings,  and carry out goods inward inspection and pre shipment inspection of finished products.

 

The Quality Engineer will need to have significant experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment. In the selection process you will need to demonstrate a deep understanding and experience in developing and reviewing quality plans, inspection and test plans and quality assurance procedures.

 

You should have experience of presenting metrics associated with Quality trends.

 

Your technical capabilities must be backed up with good communication skills and a team player mentality – this is a role that features constant interaction with colleagues across the business and with external stakeholders.
