An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior CAE Engineer to be responsible for the simulation, validation and optimization of parts, systems and whole vehicles in a company which leads the filed globally in the design and manufacture of off road vehicles which are used on challenging terrain. You will play a vital role in improving product designs and assisting in the resolution of engineering
You will use FEA to optimize the design of structural components, such as chassis, axels, and roll over protection structures, delivering on performance, efficiency and drivability targets. The role entails 3D mechanical / structural analysis and model validation using a range of methods and techniques and the use of simulation models to perform robust engineering investigations and use output to influence engineering designs and/or business decisions.
You will develop and maintain data / model management and version control systems
and support project activities to guarantee project delivery in line with established timelines and gateway deliverables, also developing test methodologies to improve data validation capabilities.
The role of Senior CAE Engineer entails close working with the appropriate Project Manager to ensure problems arising during prototype construction and testing are clearly identified so that appropriate corrective action can be taken. It will be essential to keep up to date with advances in technology related to test procedures and all relevant National/International Standards.
Degree or equivalent qualified in and Engineering discipline, you will have substantial
experience in mechanical / structural analysis for components, using 3D tools, such as Abaqus, HyperMesh, Ansys, Nastran or equivalent, together with experience in Vibration and Fatigue analysis for components.
You should have a good understanding of integration of components into vehicle systems and have experience of a simulation, analysis & development environment – model architecture definition, model, and boundary condition set up, data processing and reporting.
An understanding of fluids and thermal modelling for drive line components using appropriate tools, such as Matlab / Simulink or equivalent is desirable.
You should be highly self motivated and possess excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills and possess an enthusiastic, highly communicative manner.
