An short to mid term staffing absence co-inciding with year end has created an immediate temporary opening for a highly competent Senior Financial Accountant to head up audit, year end lead schedules and all associated audit preparation in a highly successful and expanding £30m turnover business. Likely duration of contract will be 3-6 months.
You will also assist with the handover from a Management Accountant who is shortly to retire and hand over to their replacement.
You will assist in the day-to-day tasks covered by the UK Financial Accountant, handing over when that person returns to work. This includes:
Ongoing management and development of the operations teams responsible for management accounts, credit control and accounts payable.
Oversee the month end process, ensuring that both the Board Pack information and management accounts are delivered to the deadlines set.
Provide detailed variance analysis.
Ensure that internal reporting requirements are adhered to.
Liaise with external advisors as and when required, e.g. payroll bureau, VAT specialist, tax advisors and so on.
Liaise with External Auditors for the annual year end audit. Overall responsibility for team’s preparation of the audit file.
Preparation of the statutory accounts for all UK entities as directed by the Group Financial Controller.
Collective responsibility for ad hoc projects that need addressing with a growing business. The individual will be required to work on these projects in a timely manner with the Group Financial Controller, and the wider team where applicable.
Qualified or Part Qualified, (at an advanced stage with your ACCA or CIMA studies), you will have a significant amount of year end experience/leading on audit, and be friendly, personable and professional in your approach. An effective communicator with good leadership qualities, you have a strong track record in meeting deadlines whilst maintaining a close eye for detail. Very strong Excel skills essential(SUMIF, VLOOKUP, PIVOT).Additionally the temporary Senior Financial Accountant must be a team player who is both motivated and motivating, confident, enthusiastic and well organised. You should have good analytical problem solving skills and be supremely well organised.
