Technical Manager

Job Description

This innovative manufacturing business creates workspace enhancing commercial lighting solutions through the fast moving commercial fit out sector. As the company’s Technical Manager you will play a key role in driving technical excellence across marketing, sales, design, operations, purchasing and manufacturing, ensuring that customers’ needs are fully realised technically and aesthetically.


The role of Technical Manager is one of innovation, supporting and advising and key duties include:


  • Producing accurate drawings for R&D, specification sheets, bills of materials and all instructions/drawings for manufacturing.
  • Innovate and improve products and processes.
  • Ensure accuracy of product data for use by marketing team, as well as providing marketing with blog posts/articles.
  • Diligent upkeep of all Lighting Design files.
  • Support Sales with all necessary technical information for enablement of accurate cost pricing and fit for purpose product specifications.
  • Answer technical queries from colleagues in Sales, Marketing, Purchasing and Manufacturing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide advise and solutions when non compliance issues are identified both in house and at on site installations.
  • Remain fully familiarise with all standards and regulations relating to the commercial lighting sector.


Ideally experienced in the lighting sector, or in a related industry that operates within the fast moving commercial fit out sector, you should be a positive, enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills. Proficient in the use of CAD software, you thrive on taking the technical lead in all aspects of a business, retaining an ability to prioritise and respond to a very quick moving sales cycle where drawings, information and technical support are key to a successful outcome for bespoke projects.
