You will be joining this highly successful manufacturing business as Production Engineer at a time of heavy investment in manufacturing plant and machinery.
Utilising your knowledge and experience of 3/4/5 axis machining systems and metal fabrication, you will maintain and develop the company’s production processes and procedures to facilitate efficient manufacture by identifying, sourcing, introducing and maintaining machine tools/equipment and ancillary items such as fixtures, jigs consumables and building services.
Supporting the key CNC machining and laser cutting type processes the Production Engineer will contribute to the development and implementation of methods, skills and systems that lead to optimum and safe use of tools/equipment.
Becoming fully conversant with the capability, capacity and safety features of the company’s plant/machinery you will also prepare a schedule of planned maintenance for all machine tools/equipment.
The Production Engineer will commission new plant and ensure a high standard of operator/user training and strive for Continuous Improvement.
With a relevant engineering qualification in a Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering discipline, your familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication processes should be backed by a deep knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and the ability to use modern technology in the production process.
A strong passion for product and process excellence is essential, together with good interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
